📌 Khlong Lan National Park, Kamphaeng Phet
Khlong Lan National Park is home to a large waterfall that cascades down a wide cliff, approximately 100 meters high and 40 meters wide. During the rainy season, it features beautiful mist. 💦 At the base of the waterfall, there is a pool where visitors can swim. Above the waterfall, there is a vast flat area, and this waterfall flows year-round, with the most beautiful and abundant water occurring from mid-rainy season to early winter.
The main activities here include swimming and taking photos at the base of the Khlong Lan Waterfall, alongside the stone shaped like a crocodile. Camping by stream is also popular, and there is a local waste recycling initiative encouraging tourists to preserve the natural resources in the area.
The park has a rich ecosystem, comprising deciduous forest, dry evergreen forest, and mixed deciduous forest, housing no fewer than 265 species of wildlife. It serves as the watershed for several streams, such as Khlong Khlung, Khlong Suan Mak, and Khlong Lan, which converge into the Ping River. The best time to visit is from November to February. Attractions within the park include:
💦 Khlong Lan Waterfall: Located 500 meters from the park headquarters, this large waterfall flows from the Khlong Lan mountain range and features a swimming pool at its base.
💦 Khlong Nam Lai Waterfall (or Bang Khwai Waterfall): Situated 25 kilometers from the park headquarters, this medium-sized waterfall cascades down a 60-meter-high cliff in nine tiers, each with its own pool. The third-tier splits into two streams, with the right side flowing into a pool about 3 meters wide, ideal for swimming.
💦 Khlong Suan Mak: Formed from water flowing from Khlong Lan National Park and Khlong Wang Chao National Park, this river features rocky rapids and sandy banks, flowing year-round. Notably, the “Kaokao Roy” rapids are popular for rubber boat rides during the flooding season around November, with rocky areas suitable for adventure-seeking tourists. Those wishing to stay overnight can find accommodation and camping facilities, along with shops serving visitors. 🏕

📌Sirindhorn Mangrove Ecosystem Learning Center #Prachuap Khiri Khan
Sirindhorn Queen Mangrove Ecosystem Learning Center is located in the abandoned shrimp farm area, the first of its kind in Thailand. Situated within the Klong Khao National Forest Reserve in Pranburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, this center embodies the royal initiatives of King Rama IX, combined with academic advice and local community wisdom. It has successfully restored the mangrove forest to its former richness and transformed the area into an educational center dedicated to mangrove ecosystems, sharing its benefits with society and communities.
On holidays, it’s a perfect place to take your children to learn about the interdependence of nature. The project features well-maintained walking paths that resemble a living exhibition, with informative signs narrating the stories of this forest. Visitors can explore the nature trail “Khan Na Kung” and observe historical mangrove trees planted by King Rama IX and Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. For breathtaking 360-degree views, climbing up to the Chakram Tower provides stunning vistas of the planted forests, the sea, and the Pranburi River mouth as far as the eye can see.
Additionally, the center offers activities such as boat tours through the two canals connecting the two forests. Sirindhorn Queen Mangrove Ecosystem Learning Center has plenty of activities to engage in, as mangrove forests are crucial breeding grounds for aquatic life. Thus, it is vital to be responsible for tourists by not littering or harming nature. Enjoying the refreshing atmosphere of nature can greatly help alleviate tired minds. 🌳🍃
