✨ Chedi Phra That Bo Ong
Ban Bo Aung, located in Pilok Subdistrict, is a small village situated by the reservoir of the Vajiralongkorn Dam. The village is home to Thai people of Mon, Karen, and Burmese descent, who hold great faith in the sacred Phra That Bo Aung Pagoda. This area is steeped in beliefs surrounding the pagoda, which, aside from being a holy site, also serves as a key tourist attraction in Kanchanaburi Province. The temple is ancient and serves as the spiritual center for the Buddhist Karen and Mon villagers.
The Phra That Bo Aung Pagoda is revered by the local villagers, and there is a well-known legend associated with it. It is said that a woman once crossed a bridge leading to the top of the mountain, causing the water in the surrounding reservoir to dry up. This led to a rule prohibiting women from crossing the bridge into the pagoda area. Every year, on the full moon of the fourth month (the 15th day of the waxing moon), large crowds of devoted locals travel to pay homage to Phra That Bo Aung Pagoda 🌟.
🛶 To reach this location, one must travel by boat. The word “Bo Aung” is a Karenterm meaning “successful merit.” The reservoir is vast, and it takes about 30 to 40 minutes to reach the village by boat.

Who’s ready for an onsen soak? The Hin Dat Hot Spring is a natural hot spring ♨that was formerly known as Kui Mang Hot Spring. It was discovered by Japanese soldiers during World War II and has since become a popular destination for both Thai and international tourists looking to relax and unwind.
♨ The highlight of Hin Dat Hot Spring is the well-maintained pools that have been renovated to accommodate the increasing number of visitors coming to soak in the mineral-rich hot water.
