Exploring Oh Poi Market: A Chill Riverside Market Along Phachi River

The “Ohpoi” Karen morning market is located along the Lam Pha Chi River in the vicinity of Wat Pa Tha Makham. This market seamlessly integrates cultural elements and lifestyles into every aspect of its design, embracing the traditional ways of the Karen people who live harmoniously with bamboo and nature. Constructed primarily with bamboo, the market employs natural materials for decoration, featuring handcrafted shop signs, seating areas for relaxation, and market spaces adorned with brightly colored Kang Dong mobiles. The design keenly reflects the identity of the Karen people, showcasing their way of life, culture, and traditions closely intertwined with nature.
