The Daraphirom Palace Museum was originally the residence of Her Highness Princess Dara Rasmi, the princess consort of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V). Built around 1927, the palace is now approximately 96 years old, boasting sturdy and well-preserved structures. It represents a blend of European and Lanna architectural styles. The princess had an experimental garden to support the region’s agriculture, called “Suan Chao Sabai,” which is now renovated as a mixed garden featuring trees and roses sent to the princess by The Royal National Rose Society (RNSS), including a large, fragrant, showy pink rose which she named “Chulalongkorn” in honor of the King.
