Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre

This museum serves as a memorial to the prisoners of war and civilian men and women who suffered and died during the construction of the Thailand–Burma Railway during World War II. It exhibits the history of the railway’s construction and is also an important historical site for Australians.

Activity

Visit the Museum and Exhibitions
The museum displays information about the history of Khlong Khaad and World War II through photographs, personal belongings, and various tools used in the construction of the Death Railway. There is also a mini-theater that screens a documentary film portraying the stories of prisoners of war and forced laborers who built the railway.
Walk the Khlong Khaad Trail
From the museum, there is a nature trail leading to Khlong Khaad, which is part of the Death Railway built collectively by the prisoners of war.
Experience Nature and History Together
The Khlong Khaad area features a mountain-cutting route with visible remnants of the railway and the sculpture “The Peace Vessel,” situated amidst nature to commemorate the hardships endured during the railway’s construction.
