Pha Taem National Park

Pha Taem National Park

The first sunrise viewpoint in Thailand is at Pha Chanadai Cliff, located at the easternmost point of the country. Another significant highlight of the park is the ancient rock paintings at Pha Taem Cliff, prehistoric murals dating back approximately 3,000 years. These over 300 images depict the lifestyles, hunting scenes, and cultural symbols of early humans. Moreover, the park features remarkable geological natural phenomena, such as the sandstone “mushroom pillars”, large rock formations shaped by millions of years of wind and rain erosion, forming unique mushroom-like or unusual pillar shapes arranged beautifully. Pha Taem National Park has also been designated as a Dark Sky Park by the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand. Thanks to its naturally dark environment free from urban light pollution, it offers exceptionally clear night skies, making it an ideal location for stargazing.
