The Ancient History of U-Thong Community Based Tourism Club

A tourist destination that harmoniously blends a long history with a community way of life. This area was once the center of the Dvaravati Kingdom over 1,500 years ago, the earliest civilization of Thailand with trade connections to India and China. The community’s way of life still strongly preserves its cultural identity, with fascinating traditions such as Tak Bat Thewo-Rohana (offering alms), the Sky Loy Krathong of the 12 Zodiac Festival, the Vegetarian Festival, and the Lao Khrang Songkran Flag Procession.
