Tong Tom Yai Village has a history of over 400 years, originally settled by Chinese immigrants from Hainan Island who made their living through fishing. The community is deeply committed to marine resource conservation, creating habitats such as fish houses, seahorse houses, and crab houses to provide shelter for aquatic life. Additionally, the village holds a unique “Sea Ordination” ceremony, the only one of its kind in Thailand. Accommodations in TongTomYai Homestay are local homes opened to tourists, offering a warm and friendly atmosphere that feels like staying at a relative’s house.
