Thale Noi Rayonghe Community Based Tourism Enterprise

As a coastal community, it has strongly preserved the traditional way of life of local fishermen, combined with the use of local wisdom to process traditional seafood products. The abundance of the ecosystem around the mouth of the Prasae River makes this community naturally diverse, especially as a spectacular natural viewing point for Brahminy kites. This has become a standout ecotourism activity.

 

Activity

  • Visit Wat Ratchaballang, the legend of King Taksin, and pay respects to the Buddha image made of woven rattan.
  • Watch the demonstration of traditional nipa palm hat weaving by Mrs. Somsri, a craft passed down through generations.
  • See how the famous single-sun-dried salted fish of Ban Thale Noi is made and purchase some.
  • Learn about the cultivation of local vegetables called “Pak Krachab” of Ban Thale Noi.
  • Try cooking with a community chef, turning local vegetables into special dishes at Sarapee Thale Noi Kitchen.
  • Taste and shop for “Kluay Nam Wa Song Nam”, a special dessert made from bananas of Ban Thale Noi.
  • Bamboo raft and watch the Brahminy kites at the mouth of the Prasae River at sunset.
