Let’s take this time to appreciate nature with your significant other. If you have a chance to visit Chiang Rai, do not forget to follow our trip!
Let’s start the trip by making merit at Wat Rong Khun or the White Temple. It is one of the most beautiful temples in the world crafted and designed by Chalermchai Kositpipat, an artist expertized in Lanna art.
The temple is located in the middle of Chiang Rai City. The signature of this temple is the white chapel that is decorated with reflecting silver mirrors, sculptures, and wall paintings.
After making merit to freshen up your day, let’s go to Boon Rawd Farm or Singha Park to inhale some fresh air. The park also has an Oolong Tea plantation, Taiwanese Jujube, and a strawberry farm.
You can feed wild animals such as giraffes and zebras in the middle of the mountain.
You will have to pay an entrance fee and can drive your own car around the park. If you do not have a car, there is also a tram that will take you around the park with a fee of 100 Baht. You can also rent a bike as well starting from 150 Baht.
After a whole day of travelling, let’s go and relax in our hotel, the ‘2Someplace Resort’. It is a pumpkin-shaped lodge located on the mountains.
The interior and outside view of the lodge is very beautiful.
You can ride a bike around the resort area to relax and enjoy nature.
You can order a delicious dinner in the hotel. The hotel also has a barbecue set for you to order.
Because the resort is located on top of the mountain, the weather can be quite cold in the evening. Do not forget to bring a jacket with you.
On the second day, we visited the Chui Fong Tea Plantation. The beautiful green tea plantation stair soothes the eye of the viewer. It is a good spot to inhale the tea’s scent and take some photos.
The plantation has a restaurant and a cafe with menus made from its tea. You can sip some tea while enjoying the view on the balcony.
The recommended menus are the Ice Green Tea Latte and Green Tea Crepe Cake. The intense flavor of the tea goes very well with the soft and luscious cream of the cake.
We then moved to Pa Hee Village, a village in the middle of the valley on the mountain.
Experience the traditional and simple way of life of the villagers.
We can feel the peace and relaxation of this village since we arrived.
There are several local shops for you to buy some local and traditional souvenirs such as clothes, bags, and personal items.
Talk a stroll around the village and take some photos with the beautiful views.
After taking a stroll, we came to check in at our accommodation for tonight in the Pa Hee Village, ‘The Mae Homestay’. It is a small but cozy homestay run by the locals.
There is a balcony for you to relax and treasure the beautiful sunset view.
The interior is decorated with simple and clean furniture.
The homestay provides you with local dinner dishes that you can not taste anywhere else.
On our last day, we woke up to a nice Thai breakfast of Congee and Boiled Egg to boost our energy.
Let’s make another stop before heading back to the city. ‘Grandfather’s Garden Life Museum’ is a cafe located in the hills. It also has a restaurant, homestays, and a camping site as well.
Sip your favorite drinks and eat a delicious cake on the cafe’s balcony while watching the view of a pond surrounded by mountains.
Take a nice picture as a souvenir here!
The trip is more special when you travel with your significant other.
The last place we visited is the Wat Rong Suea Ten or as known as the Blue Temple. The temple is designed by a local Chiang Rai person, Putha Kabkaew, a student of Chalermchai Kositpipat, the artist who built the White Temple we visited earlier in the trip.
The temple is known for its unique use of the color blue and white which contrast with the classic gold. The sculpture and architecture is very well designed to every tiny little detail.
There are wall paintings about the history of Buddhism inside the main chapel. The paintings also use the blue and white tone of the temple. The centerpiece of this temple is the white Buddha statue inside the chapel. You can come and pay your respect here.
Most importantly, you should appropriately dress when visiting the temple and any other temples around Thailand.
What a wonderful trip. We hope you will enjoy your time here as much as we do. Do not forget to visit Chiang Rai if you have a plan to go to the North.
