The area of Kalasin Province has been important since the primitive age. The discovery of the most complete dinosaur fossil in Thailand was found here. In the history age, there was a development of civilisation since the Dvaravati Era. Later, people migrated from the left side of Mekong River to Pao riverside. They were Phu Thai people and now many of their descendants are living in many districts of Kalasin.
